Costa Rica Brunca Chirripo Mountains Gas Estate Red Catuai Black Honey Coffee Beans
This coffee comes from the Gas Estate in the Chirripo Mountains of the Brunca region, Costa Rica, Red Catuai variety processed with the black honey method. Brunca is in southern Costa Rica near Chirripo (the country’s highest peak), where high altitude and unique microclimate produce quality coffee. Black honey retains a high amount of mucilage with longer drying time, significantly boosting sweetness and richness.
Cupping notes are rich and sweet: prominent blackberry and dark berry aromas upfront, followed by honey and chocolate sweetness, finishing with brown sugar and soft spice aftertaste. Sweetness is full and intense, acidity is gentle, and the body is smooth and substantial — like sipping rich blackberry honey chocolate.
Rias champion team uses a medium-light to medium roast to preserve the sweetness and richness. Excellent in pour-over, cold brew, and espresso.
Pour-over Brewing Suggestion
Brewing Tip:To fully express the blackberry, honey and chocolate notes, use lower water temperature and longer bloom time.
Perfect for lovers of rich sweetness, substantial body, and black honey character. Highly recommended for those seeking southern Costa Rica high-altitude black honey lots.
